Ohiopyle White Water Rafting & Boating
You can launch your Ohiopyle white water rafting trip right from the Paddler's Lane shores on the Youghiogheny River. We are also just a short drive from various launch sites, white water rafting boat rentals, tours, and classes. We will be happy to help our guests arrange logistics.
There are four basic sections of the river to start from based on the class of rapids for your skill level. Here is a brief location guide to getting you started on your Ohiopyle white water rafting adventure.
Middle Yough - Class II Rapids
Launch from Paddler's Lane and you will be rafting the Middle Yough in family-friendly class 2 rapids. You can also launch 2 miles upstream and take-out at Paddlers Lane. There are launch areas at the Main House Vacation Rental, Chalet Cabin, and Riverside Campground.
Lower Yough - Class III Rapids
Paddle 11 miles downstream from our launch area or drive 15 minutes to find class 3 rapids at the Lower Yough.
Upper Yough - Class IV/V Rapids
A 15-minute drive from our property to find class 4-5 rapids. These rapids require a high level of expertise or you can take a guided rafting tour with a commercial provider.
Top Yough – Class IV/V Rapids
Experts can run the rapids here, but there are no commercial tours or rentals available in this area of the Yough.

Casselman River has Class II/III Rapids and is 11 miles from Paddlers Lane
Meadow Run is 7miles of IV-V(V+) class rapids starting at Ohiopyle which is 13.2 Miles from Paddlers Lane
Cheat River is a class III/IV wilderness run is about an hours drive from Paddler's lane
Boating on The Yough Lake
The Yough lake and Dam are just a 10-minute drive from Paddlers Lane. Bring your boat! We have considerable parking for your boat and vehicle (No RV's please).
